Dry leveling for very uneven floors
Although it does not happen too often, it can of course be the case that your floor has many large unevenness due to damage. In these cases, the best way of dry leveling is to use leveling granules. The granules fill the large spaces so that you have an even floor in no time. Combine this with the placement of chipboard to level the floor completely accurately.
In case of large irregularities, it is normally chosen to pour cement on the floor and make it flat again. While this is a possibility, of course, it takes a while for the cement to dry and naturally gives a lot of crap. You can lay the granules easily and quickly. You don't have to wait to move on to the next part of the floor.
Use a subfloor
The most common way of leveling a floor is by using a subfloor. A floor with very large holes and unevenness cannot be saved in this way. A subfloor is especially suitable for a load-bearing floor with minimal unevenness. The plates or rolls are in many cases suitable for dissolving unevenness up to a maximum of 3 mm. In addition, most subfloors have a moisture barrier, which offers protection against rising damp. Is there no moisture barrier present? Then you can often choose to add a moisture-resistant film.
However, a subfloor is not suitable for every type of floor. A glued PVC floor or another type of glued floor must be placed directly on the surface. It is therefore not possible to place it on the subfloor In this case, the surface must be leveled in another way.
In addition to leveling your floor, subfloors bring many more benefits. For example, it provides extra sound attenuation, works against moisture. Are you planning to install a Click PVC floor? Then you have to use a different type of subfloor to ensure that your click floor is optimally protected.
Using OSB plates
OSB plates are a form of dry leveling that can be applied in many different ways. Older houses have a wooden construction as a base. This construction consists of beams that can have quite a lot of open space between them. Laying your floor on this surface is practically impossible. That is why it is very important that a whole is made of this subfloor so that a floor can be placed on it again.
The OSB plates must be attached with parquet glue or screws on the wooden construction. Then it is possible to level above with egaline or with a subfloor. OSB boards must therefore be placed at the very bottom of the wooden construction of your floor. Depending on the type of floor you are going to install, you can choose the next layer and thus put the final floor.
Dual subfloor slabs
These plates are suitable for leveling your subfloor in a dry way. It ensures a quick preparation of the floor and ensures a super even surface. This floor also has a 10 dB noise reduction label. Extra cushioning! These plates are suitable for laying a glued floor.
